Almeta George's Brown Eyed Susan Cookies

3/4 cup softened butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

combine: 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 3/4 cup flour

1 half pound box Oliver's Dark Mint wafers

Cream butter, add sugar gradually. Add egg, vanilla, flour, salt and chill at least 1 hour.  Shape into one inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Press the Oliver's mint wafer into center of ball and press down, but not to deep.

Bake at 400 degrees       8-10 minutes
